Melinda Balsmeier, PA-C
Melinda Balsmeier, PA-C, has a passion for patient care and started practicing here at the Idaho Falls Clinic in April, 2017. With many years of experience caring for pre and post-operative Orthopedics and Otolaryngology patients, she also brings a unique perspective to primary care consistent with our mission to diagnose, manage and coordinate all your healthcare needs. Melinda graduated from Idaho State University in August, 2004 with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies and completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Utah State University in December, 2001. On a personal note, Melinda is an Idaho native and was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho. She has lived and practiced in a variety of far and wide locations, including Washington D.C. and China. Melinda is married with 4 active children. In her spare time, she enjoys cross-country skiing, biking, reading, and shooting bows with her husband and children.
Leland Krantz, M.D.
Dr. Krantz grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate studies as well as for medical school, receiving an MD degree in 1970. He did an internship at Orange County Medical Center in Orange, California followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at the US Naval Hospital in Chelsea, Massachusetts. He practiced medicine for several years as a physician in the U.S. Navy before joining the Idaho Falls Clinic in 1977. He also served as a Medical Reserve Officer, retiring from the Navy as a captain in 1996. He is a Diplomat of both the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an FAA Airman Medical Examiner. His years of practice are a testament to how much he enjoys both the field of medicine and caring for his patients.
Bradley Stoddard, M.D.
Dr. Stoddard was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Theology from Carroll College in Montana. He then graduated with his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical Center of Delaware. He began his career as an Internist spending time at the Medical Center of Delaware and Perrypoint Medical Center, an affiliate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Following six years in Seattle, practicing as an Internist, he came to the Idaho Falls Clinic in 1998. He is affiliated with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He presently also holds medical directorships with Aspen Hospice, Utilization Review at EIRMC, and Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Alan Avondet, M.D.
Dr. Avondet was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. He received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Brigham Young University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with High Honors and then completed his M.D. at the University of Utah, graduating with honors. He was also the recipient of the Paul Wintrobe Memorial Award. Dr. Avondet completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, Missouri. Following residency, Dr. Avondet joined the Idaho Falls Clinic in 1982. He previously has served as Medical Staff President at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. He is currently an Attending Physician at EIRMC and a Consulting Physician at Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, Idaho. Dr. Avondet has served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and the division of Nephrology. He is currently the Medical Director of Gem State Regional Dialysis Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dr Avondet is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Avondet is dedicated to quality healthcare for all his patients.
